Here I am sitting in a hotel in Times Square. The Sybase Match Play event was last week and I'm flying to Brazil Wednesday for an unofficial event. So, I decided to hang out in NYC for a few days and catch a show and baseball game!
The year is finally up and going! This will be the first time all season I have played three weeks in a row! Excited to get the season going!
I feel like I've gotten off to a slow start. Thailand and Singapore were great events for me. Kraft I got off to a sluggish start and had to spend the rest of the event climbing out of the hole I dug. Oh did I forget about San Diego??? Ok that was kinda on purpose.:)
The Mojo 6 event in Jamaica was fun and well Mexico was a bust.
When I go to Mobile I was ready to go. Finally some rhythm to the year!! I was having a tough time with all of the starting and stopping and not playing courses that I felt extremely comfortable on. So needless to say Mobile was a sight for sore eyes. Really felt great about Mobile and started three under in four hole on Sunday before the rain closed us down. I will always wander what could have been that day but I decided to trust that God was saving me from a big number somewhere along the line!:)
Match play was a great week. I have always kinda struggled mentally in match play, but felt like I grew up a little this week. I took so many good things from the week and will always kick myself about the iron shot into the green on 13. I should have never been long there.
Anyway, just wanted to give all of you an update! Excited the schedule is picking up and we are getting into the thick of the tournaments!
Update on mom, she's doing great! All of her treatments are finished and she will have her reconstruct surgery at some point before the end of the year. She has an amazing attitude and she is thrilled her hair is growing back!
Thanks to all of you for your support! It's a season full of ups and downs and it's nice to know y'all support me through all of them!
I feel like I need to set a few facts straight. I am learning that it's difficult for most to have all the facts unless they ask me.
First, the night before Saturdays matches I had about 4 hours of sleep due to the fact I couldn't fall asleep and there were people running up and down the hallways of a very nice hotel all night.
Nobody said anything about my sleeping habits after I won two very tough matches.
Second, I left the game early because I was aware of what I needed to do and the time I wanted to get to bed.
Anybody who knows me knows in ten years I have seen all kinds of baseball games because it takes my mind off of things.
And the people who know me know I don't go to bed before midnight no matter what I'm doing the next day. Saturday night I was asleep by 12:30. Not the 1:15 or 1:30 that was reported.
As for the drop behind #13. I was on soft muddy ground with a nice clump of grass behind my ball. I used the rules to get a better lie. Yes, it was going to be a better lie than the first.
I continue to learn it's difficult to get the correct facts but people who know me know I want to win and I'll do anything to accomplish that.
So thank you again to all of those out there who are supportive and know I'm always giving everything I have for all of you.
